Monty Garrett

Monty Garrett has extensive work experience, starting in 1987 as an Audit Staff at Ernst & Young. Monty then worked as an Accounting Manager at Areté Associates from 1989 to 1994. From 1994 to 2009, they served as the Executive Director at Verizon. Afterwards, Monty joined Doosan Infracore International as the Chief Accounting Officer and CFO from 2009 to 2013, and later became a Member of the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2015. Monty then returned to Verizon, where they held the positions of Senior Vice President, Accounting from 2013 to 2017, and Senior Vice President - Finance from 2017 to 2023. In 2023, Monty became the Founder of Oconee Group LLC, providing advisory services in corporate finance and accounting. Monty is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Brightspeed.

Monty Garrett holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from The Citadel, which they obtained from 1983 to 1987. Monty also has a Master's Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, completed from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, they earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General from California State University-Dominguez Hills, completed between 1999 and 2001. Monty Garrett has two additional certifications, including being a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New Jersey and a Private Pilot certified by the FAA in 2007.
