Shawn Ryan, MD, MBA has extensive experience in various roles within the medical field. Shawn currently serves as a Board Member for Ms.Medicine. Dr. Ryan has also held positions in the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) where they served as the Chair of Legislative Advocacy and Chair of Payer Relations. Shawn has also been a member of the RecoveryOhio Council for the Office of the Governor in Ohio. Dr. Ryan served as the Immediate Past-President for the Ohio State Chapter of ASAM. Prior to these roles, they were the President and Chief Medical Officer for BrightView, LLC, where they focused on addressing substance abuse treatment needs. Dr. Ryan's earlier experience includes working as an Emergency Physician at the University of Cincinnati and serving as the Physician Chair of Quality and Patient Safety at The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health.

Shawn Ryan, MD, MBA has a diverse educational background. Shawn pursued their undergraduate studies at Georgetown College from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Kentucky from 2002 to 2006, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Continuing their medical education, Shawn Ryan completed the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine between 2006 and 2010, obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. During this period, they also pursued additional studies and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business in 2010.
