Dave Gilberd

Dave Gilberd is an experienced Estimation and Production Engineer at Brightwater Engineering since July 2023. In addition, Dave serves as a Guitar Making Tutor at the Nelson Centre for Fine Woodworking, teaching short courses on guitar making since May 2022. As the Founder, Owner, and Director of Goldbeard Guitars, established in January 2011, Dave oversees a company focused on custom guitar manufacturing and instrument repair in Lyall Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Prior roles include Directorship at Brightwater Motors from June 2020 to September 2023, Fabrication Assist at Stone Street Studios for the film "Ghost in the Shell" in late 2015, and Contracting Aircraft Engineer at GAP Aviation from July 2011 to March 2015, providing maintenance services for aircraft. Earlier experience includes managing the European operations of AXO Shredders Ltd and working as an Aircraft Technician in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, specializing in helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft maintenance. Dave holds an education in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
