Vincent Thompson has a diverse work experience. Vincent started their career at General Motors, where they worked as a Design Release Engineer for Interiors, managing the release of interior components for multiple vehicle programs. Vincent also served as a Test Engineer for Tire & Wheel Systems, overseeing test areas and introducing high-speed camera technology for improved measurement precision. Additionally, they worked as a CAE Engineer for Vehicle Dynamics & Loads Prediction, constructing models and conducting simulations to test new product designs.

After their time at General Motors, Vincent joined Metis as a Data Science Fellow. During their fellowship, they worked on various projects using statistical modeling, machine learning, and data acquisition techniques. One notable project involved building a convolutional neural network with transfer learning to detect eye conditions with over 90% accuracy. Vincent also created a user-friendly Flask application for users to receive predictions on their own photos.

Currently, Vincent is employed at Brigit as a Senior Data Analyst.

Vincent Thompson completed their high school education from Regis High School between the years 2010 and 2014, earning a High School Diploma. Following this, they attended Duke University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2018. Continuing their educational journey, Vincent completed a Data Science Bootcamp at Metis in the year 2020 to enhance their skills in the field of Data Science.
