From 2010 to 2022, they were employed by Northrop Grumman, where they held nine different roles, including Product Owner Mission Connectivity, Manufacturing Digital Technology and Strategy; Hardware Integrated Product Team Lead; IT Program Manager; Program Manager; Analyst; Lead Industrial Engineer; Industrial Engineer; Process Engineer; and Industrial Engineer. In 2022, they became Chief Technology Officer at Brllnt.

Trey received their Master of Science (M.S.) in Technical Innovation Management from The Johns Hopkins University between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University between 2006 and 2010. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Design Thinking for Strategic Innovation from Stanford University School of Engineering in 2017, the Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner Credential (ACPM) from Scaled Agile, Inc. in August 2021, and the Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2019.
