Rowena Sara Díaz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. From February 2023 to the present, they have served as the Director of People Operations at Brilliant Ink, where they oversee various aspects of the company's contractor program and supports its culture efforts. Prior to this, from March 2022 to February 2023, they held the position of People Operations Strategist at Brilliant Ink, where they managed the contractor program and contributed to the agency's culture initiatives.
Before joining Brilliant Ink, Rowena worked as an Independent Consultant, starting in January 2021. In this role, they focused on project management for communications initiatives and campaigns for clients including Brilliant Ink, Syneos Health, Habitat for Humanity International, and Open Lock Marketing.
Rowena took a sabbatical from November 2019 to November 2020, during which they completed coursework in project, systems, and operations management, diversity and inclusion, and inclusive leadership. Rowena also immersed herself in the Spanish language and Mexican culture while living in Mexico.
Prior to their sabbatical, Rowena had an extensive tenure at Habitat for Humanity International, starting in February 2014. Rowena served as the Senior Director of Public Relations and Global Communications Strategy from March 2015 to November 2019, and as the Director of Public and Media Relations from February 2014 to March 2015. In these roles, they played a key role in developing and implementing communication strategies for the organization.
Rowena's career began at GolinHarris, where they worked as a Senior Manager from May 2006 to February 2014.
Rowena Sara Díaz obtained a B.A. in Communication with a focus on Public Relations from the University of Houston. Rowena pursued their undergraduate education from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degree, Rowena has earned several certifications. In 2022, they obtained a certification in "Virtual Talent Acquisition: Creating Your Organization's Strategy" from SHRM. Rowena also obtained a certification in "Business Leadership, Social Change, and Movements" from Leslie Crutchfield in January 2022. Furthermore, in 2021, Rowena earned a certification in "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace" from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.
