Will Nguyen, PhD, PE

Will Nguyen, PhD, PE has worked in various engineering roles since 2009. Will began their career as an Intern at Twining, Inc. in 2009 and then went on to intern at KPFF Consulting Engineers in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, they were a Structural Analysis Engineer 2 at The Boeing Company. From 2010 to 2017, they were a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley. Their research focused on the experimental failure mechanisms of novel fiber-reinforced concrete, and they were proficient in programs such as MATLAB, Avizo, ImageJ, Gamry Framework, and Microsoft Office. In 2017, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. From 2018 to 2021, they were an Associate III at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. and then a Transportation Engineer (Materials Design) at Caltrans from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they are a Senior Engineer at Brimstone.

Will Nguyen obtained their BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010. Will then went on to receive their MS in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials from the same institution in 2011. In 2017, they completed their PhD in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, Will Nguyen holds an EIT (Engineer in Training) certification.
