Zach Hembree

Zach Hembree is a Senior Chemical Engineer at Brimstone, a role they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Process Development Engineer at Zymergen from 2020-2022, where they were responsible for process development and optimization of product recovery, yield, purity, and rejection of target impurities. Zach was also responsible for the assembly, maintenance, repair, and operation of all associated equipment. From 2016-2020, they were a Process Engineer II at Lygos. From 2014-2016, they were a Battery Engineer at Ballast Energy Inc. From 2013-2014, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, where they conducted independent studies of lithium-ion batteries in electrochemical engineering techniques.

Zach Hembree attended Washington University in St. Louis from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering. Zach also completed a degree in Chemical Engineering during that time.
