Vishal Prabhu

Vishal Prabhu is a Principal Robotics Engineer at BRINC Drones since March 2024, specializing in hybrid stereo/monocular visual-inertial odometry systems for indoor tactical and long-range drones. Prior to this role, Vishal served as a Senior Robotics Engineer at Autel Robotics from January 2021 to November 2024, focusing on real-time localization and mapping for thousands of drones. At Fresh Consulting, between July 2017 and December 2020, Vishal led the development of autonomy stacks for autonomous mobile robots and industrial vehicles. Vishal's earlier experience includes being a Technical Expert at Siemens, where involvement in computational imaging, computer vision, and mathematical optimization was prevalent, and a Senior Software Engineer at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, working on automotive engine control and embedded ECU software. Vishal Prabhu holds a Master's degree in Dynamics and Control from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution.
