Amber McKinney

Amber McKinney has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries and roles. Amber began their career in 2002 as an Outreach Specialist with Zeiders Enterprises, Inc., where they developed and implemented recruitment strategies for a Department of Labor educational funding program. From 2007 to 2009, Amber worked as an Administrative Assistant with WIC Overseas, determining program eligibility and enrolling military individuals and their families.

In 2011, they became a Center Director at the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia, managing the daily operations of a non-profit center and overseeing administrative support, budgeting, and volunteer management. Following this, Amber held various roles within the US Navy, including Ombudsman and Family Advocacy Program & Director's Assistant, where they provided support and communication between military families and commands.

Amber joined Zeiders Enterprises, Inc. again in 2015, serving as a Work & Family Life Consultant, providing training and support to military personnel and their families. In 2017, they briefly worked as an Event Coordinator with Military Newspapers of VA, organizing a celebration for the U.S. birthday.

Moving forward, Amber gained experience at AFSC/Magellan Federal as a Work & Family Life Consultant and later joined Zeiders Enterprises, Inc. as an Education Services Facilitator, where they managed multiple programs and conducted events and trainings for military members and their families.

In 2022, Amber completed a Recruiter Development Bootcamp with Orion Talent, where they gained the necessary skills to become a successful recruiter. Later that year, they worked as a recruiter at the Bristol Alliance of Companies.

Amber McKinney obtained an Associate's degree in General Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2013. Amber also studied Clinical/Medical Social Work at Norfolk State University, although the specific degree and duration are unknown. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Bristol Hazard Communication, Bristol Motor Vehicle Safety, and Fire Extinguisher Safety from the Bristol Alliance of Companies in April 2023. Amber has also completed various LinkedIn courses, such as "5 Reasons Your Career Is Stalled and How to Get Unstuck," "The Art of Leadership (getAbstract Summary)," "How to Build a Following Online," "Professional Networking," and "You Need a Career Development Plan" in 2021 and 2023.
