Tom Owen is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in financial management and control across various organizations. Currently serving as the Honorary Treasurer for the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums since July 2021, Tom has held the role of Financial Controller at Chester Zoo since January 2014. Previously, Tom was the Finance Director at John Taylor Hospice CIC, where responsibilities included overseeing financial operations during the organization's transition from the NHS. Tom’s career includes significant roles at Twycross Zoo and Orbit Group, where expertise in financial systems and team management were key contributions. Tom holds an MA in Chinese Studies from SOAS University of London and a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from Leeds Beckett University.
