Elizabeth Birchall began their work experience in 1995 at Mitchells & Butlers as a Dining bar staff member. Elizabeth then worked as a Freelance Journalist for EM Media from 1999 to 2001. In 2000, they became a Publisher at Athletics Weekly Magazine, where they worked until 2005. Elizabeth then joined British Olympic Association as a News Reporter in 2008, during the Beijing Olympic Games. In the same year, they also started working at UK Athletics, where they held various roles including Media Manager/Officer, Content Manager, Communications Manager, and Head of Communications. Elizabeth'smost recent position was Head of Communications at London 2017, starting in 2016.
Elizabeth Birchall completed their education at three different institutions. From 1989 to 1994, they attended Fernwood where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Following their time at Fernwood, from 1994 to 1996, they studied English Literature (British and Commonwealth) at Parkview, where they completed their A levels. Finally, from 1996 to 1999, Elizabeth attended Bournemouth University where they earned a degree in multi-media journalism, specifically a BAMMJ degree.
