Jeremy Cairns

Lead, Indigenous Relations at British Columbia Utilities Commission

Jeremy Cairns currently serves as the Lead of Indigenous Relations at the British Columbia Utilities Commission, a position held since August 2022. Prior to this role, Jeremy worked as a Senior Economist and Policy Advisor at Pacific Economic Development Canada from June 2021 to September 2022, and at Prairies Economic Development Canada from March 2019 to June 2021, where responsibilities included economic analysis and stakeholder engagement. Previous experience also includes serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Government of Alberta, focusing on Indigenous relations and climate policy, and managing grant programs that supported community-driven economic development initiatives. Earlier roles included positions with the Government of Yukon and GroundTruth Exploration Inc. Jeremy holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Hertie School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Psychology from the University of Victoria. Additionally, time was spent at Irkutsk State University.
