Amira Gomaa is a skilled professional with diverse experience in research and education. Currently serving as a Regional Project Coordinator at the British Council and a Research Associate at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, Amira is engaged in studying the genetic mechanisms of fungal adaptation to space conditions. As the owner and science communicator for Science khana since April 2017, Amira has effectively facilitated science communication initiatives. Previous roles include Research Assistant positions at Cairo University and Ain Shams University, as well as several teaching assistant roles in biology and genetics at October 6 University and Misr University for Science and Technology. Amira began their career as a researcher with the Ministry of Higher Education and gained experience through trainee positions at the National Cancer Institute and the Egyptian Organization for Standardization & Quality. Amira earned a Bachelor of Science in Botany/Plant Biology from Ain Shams University and holds a Diploma of Education from Maker Diploma.
