Seona Reid

Trustee at British Council

Seona Reid’s professional career has spanned performing arts, arts and heritage funding, and higher education, most recently serving as Director of the Scottish Arts Council (1990-1999) and Director of The Glasgow School of Art (1999-2013).

Having held many positions in public life, she is currently Chair of the National Theatre of Scotland, Vice Chair of Wasps Artist Studios, a Trustee of Tate and Edinburgh International Cultural Summit Foundation, a member of the British Council Board and Chair of its Scotland Advisory Committee.

Seona is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Royal Society of Arts and became a Dame in 2013 for services to the creative industries.
