Rhys Cooper

Rhys Cooper is an experienced Programme Manager at the British Geological Survey since October 2001, overseeing the monitoring and delivery of science programs and collaborating with the Chief Scientist on strategic initiatives. Previous roles include Team Leader for the Continental Shelf Geoscience research program, Marine Survey Manager for the Shallow Water Survey Project Team, and Senior Hydrographer responsible for geophysical surveys. Rhys has also worked as a GIS Trainer and Specialist, developing geoscientific datasets and applications for various projects. Prior to the British Geological Survey, Rhys served as a Hydrographic Surveyor at Westminster Dredging Company Ltd. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Leicester, a Postgraduate Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying from the University of Plymouth, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from The University of Sheffield.
