James Pinkstone has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. James started their career as a Learning Support Teaching Assistant at Waingels College, where they supported children with various difficulties and conditions. James then worked as a Pensions Administration Assistant at Xafinity Consulting for two summers, handling the administration of large defined benefit pension schemes.

In 2009, James joined RSM International (formerly Baker Tilly) as an Audit Assistant, where they gained experience in on-site auditing and accounts preparation. James later became an Audit Supervisor, leading the planning and review of audits for clients across different industries. James also served as Acting Audit Manager, managing a portfolio of clients and providing guidance to staff.

Since 2014, James has been working with British Land, starting as a Financial Accountant, JV, and Funds. James provided management information to key stakeholders and liaised with external parties on behalf of the company. James then held the position of Senior Business Partner, overseeing budgeting and business planning for multiple sectors. James eventually transitioned to roles in Development Finance, where they led a team responsible for appraising and reporting on the company's development pipeline. Currently, they serve as an Investment Director, responsible for investment transactions and financial management.

James Pinkstone attended the University of Exeter from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance. In September 2012, they also obtained an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) certification from the ICAEW.
