Stuart M Butler

Stuart M Butler PhD is a distinguished policy expert with extensive experience in health care, economic opportunity, and public policy. Currently serving as a Board Member at Briya Public Charter School and a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution since September 2014, Stuart has made significant contributions to various organizations, including the Convergence Center for Policy Resolution as a Visiting Fellow and board member, and as a board member and chair of Mary's Center until April 2023. A former Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, Stuart taught Ethics and Values in Public Policy and has held notable positions at The Heritage Foundation, including Distinguished Fellow and Director of the Center for Policy Innovation, as well as Vice President of Domestic and Economic Policy Studies. Stuart also brings academic insight from their fellowship at Harvard University and previous roles in education, holding a PhD in History and degrees in Economics and Modern History, and Physics and Mathematics from the University of St Andrews.
