Doug is a Professional Geologist/Hydrogeologist and Certified Environmental Manager with over 32 years of experience conducting environmental and hydrogeologic investigations throughout the Western United States. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from California State University, Humboldt (Arcata, CA) and a Master of Science degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He joined Broadbent in 1991 and he currently serves as President, Board Chairman, and Principal Hydrogeologist. He is an effective leader with vast experience managing corporate matters, branch offices, personnel, projects, contracts, and subcontractors. His overall experience has allowed him to develop a keen ability to identify and develop solutions for environmental challenges faced by Broadbent’s varied clientele. He has an open-door policy and has a reputation of being approachable by clients, industry representatives, and employees. He has long-standing relationships with leaders of major and independent oil companies; federal, state, and local agencies; national trucking and travel centers; school districts; municipalities; industrial operations; and a wide variety of large and small businesses. When away from work, Doug keeps busy with outdoor activities (golfing, hiking, and camping), travel, attending sports and music events, and property improvement projects. He is a long-standing member of the National Groundwater Association, Reno South Rotary, and Grace Church Reno.
