Broadway Dallas
Keon Nickie is an accomplished artistic professional currently serving as an Artistic Assistant for both Dallas Black Dance Theatre: Encore and Dallas Black Dance Theatre since November 2022. Additionally, Keon holds the position of Teaching Artist at Broadway Dallas, beginning in August 2022. Previous experience includes a role as a Dancer for The Dallas Opera in August 2022 and a freelance career as a Choreographer from 2013 until August 2022. Keon was also a Company Member at Dallas Black Dance Theatre from July 2014 to June 2017 and performed as a Professional Dancer with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater and DanceWorks Chicago between 2006 and 2009. Keon holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Choreography from Long Island University and has furthered education at Ballet Hispánico and The Ailey School.
