Mark Michael, MD has a long and varied work history. Mark began their career in 2011 as a Nephrology Researcher at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2013 they took on the role of Call Counselor at Family and Children's Service, a role in which they counseled and provided resources for callers in distress. In 2014 they became a Manuscript Editor at AJE - American Journal Experts. In 2016 they were a Chief Content Developer at ExplainDoc, as well as a Biomedical Engineer/Medical Fellow at Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In 2018 they became a Product Manager at Billy, a role in which they designed the algorithms used to convert raw sensor data into meaningful insights about the older persons health and behaviour, and designed a new provisioning process for their hardware. In 2020 they became a Research Project Coordinator at Peninsula Health, managing a research collaboration between Billy and their research team, and completing a research project examining how behavioural data measured by home monitoring technology changes before and after a fall. This work resulted in an accepted publication in Smart Health (not yet published). Currently they are a Product Manager at Brook Health.
Mark Michael, MD has a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Baylor College of Medicine, obtained between 2014 and 2019. Mark also has a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) from Vanderbilt University, obtained between 2010 and 2014, with a field of study in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Additionally, Dr. Michael has obtained certifications from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) and CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, including a Six Sigma White Belt, Research Conflict of Interest Course, Biomedical Research, Health Information Privacy and Security for Biomedical, and Responsible Conduct of Research.
