Caleigh Stagnone is a Manufacturing Engineer currently participating in the New Grad Rotation Program at Blue Origin since September 2023. Caleigh is also recognized as a Brooke Owens Fellow, engaged in internship activities with Loft Orbital, where support included offsite vibration and thermal vacuum testing for the YAM-6 satellite program. Caleigh previously served as the Chief Engineer for the Design Build Fly team at the University of Washington, achieving notable competition placements while leading a team of over 60 engineers. Prior internships include Development Test Engineering at SpaceX, where project responsibilities involved test design and fixture development, and Manufacturing Engineering at Janicki Industries, focused on documentation and machinery operations. Caleigh has advanced academic credentials, including a Bachelor of Applied Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Washington and is pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University.

Brooke Owens Fellowship

The Brooke Owens Fellowship is a highly competitive internship and mentorship program designed to honor the memory of beloved space industry pioneer and accomplished pilot, Brooke Owens, by inspiring and training exceptional college-aged women seeking a career in aviation or space exploration. Women and gender-minorities pursuing undergraduate degrees at any institution of higher learning and studying any discipline are eligible to apply. Fellows earn a meaningful, paid summer internship position at one of 30+ amazing air and space organizations, ranging from small start-up to space agencies to the most popular companies in the business. The Fellowship selection criteria is designed to identify women and non-binary students of all backgrounds and areas of study who have earned a role at leading Aerospace organization and who actively strive to make the world a better place. Along with academic achievement, the Selection Committee is looking for passion, creativity and spirit. In addition to their paid work experience, each Brooke Owens Fellow is paired with a hand-picked, executive-level mentor. Our mentor pool includes seven astronauts, a billionaire, several CEOs, and more. Each annual class of Brooke Owens Fellows also makes a trip to Washington, DC, in July to attend the annual conference to meet senior industry leaders, participate as a team in solving a grand challenge, and connect with their mentors and with other Fellows.
