Rachel Thomas

Rachel Thomas is a highly skilled propulsion engineer currently working at SpaceX, focusing on the Raptor chamber and nozzle since July 2022. Additionally, Rachel serves as a 2020 Brooke Owens Fellow, supporting women and gender minorities in the aerospace industry. Previous experience includes research assistant roles at Georgia Institute of Technology, contributing to high powered electric propulsion and combustion lab projects, and leading propulsion efforts for the Georgia Tech Experimental Rocketry team. Rachel has held internships at prestigious organizations such as SpaceX, United Launch Alliance, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where critical skills in thermal protection, fluid analysis, and experimental procedures were developed. Rachel earned a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2022.
