Jay Best

Jay Best is an Associate Staff Mechanical Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory, working on the Electron Ion Collider since February 2023. Prior experience includes a Lab Test Engineer Internship at Boeing, where Jay supported structural fatigue tests for the 777X main landing gear, and a Technical Operations Internship at BAE Systems, Inc., focusing on manufacturing processes for electronic systems. Jay also interned at Piping Rock Health Products, optimizing building design plans in AutoCAD and performing HVAC calculations, and worked as an HVAC Technician at Green Team LI, installing high-efficiency heat pumps. Education includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, both obtained from Stony Brook University College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
