Joe Labas has a strong background in quality management and process improvement. Joe currently works as the Quality Manager for the Business Services Directorate at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where they report to the CFO. Prior to that, they held the role of Manager of Assessment and Learning at the same company.
Before joining Brookhaven National Laboratory, Joe worked at Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation as a Quality Manager, leading a team of Quality Engineers, Analysts, and Inspectors. Joe was responsible for implementing continuous improvement efforts using lean six sigma methods.
From 2012 to 2016, Joe was the Director of Supply Chain Quality at Telephonics Corporation. In this role, they focused on supply chain optimization and the improvement of suppliers' performance in the aerospace and defense industry.
Joe's career began at Symbol Technologies, where they served as the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering for a decade.

Joe Labas received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, graduating in 1983. Joe later pursued a Master's degree in Quality & Productivity Management from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering, completing it in 1997. Additionally, Joe holds several certifications from the ASQ - World Headquarters, including Certified SSBB, Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, and Quality Auditor.
