Wayne Betts is a Senior Technology Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory since October 2001, specializing in Linux system administration and computing support for a nuclear physics research group, along with involvement in grid middleware management and site coordination for the Open Science Grid. Previously, Wayne worked as a Graduate Student at Ohio State University from January 1998 to January 1999, contributing to the installation and testing of the STAR Time Projection Chamber and developing a Web/CGI temperature readout system, while also achieving Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification. Earlier experience includes research and development of multi-wire proportional drift chambers at the University of Texas at Austin and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from January 1994 to January 1997, culminating in a Master’s thesis and practical work on STAR TPC systems. Wayne holds a B.S. and M.A. in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin and further pursued studies at Stony Brook University.
