Yonggang Cui

Interim Chair, Nonproliferation and National Security Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory

Yonggang Cui is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in national security and medical imaging, currently serving as the Interim Chair of the Nonproliferation and National Security Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory since 2006. Cui leads the Radiation Detection and Emerging Safeguards Technologies Group, focusing on developing innovative radiation detectors, front-end electronics, and embedded systems while securing federal funding and establishing industry partnerships for collaborative research and development. Prior to this role, Cui contributed as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Houston, playing a critical role in electronics development for the MECO project, and as a visiting scholar at Brookhaven, specializing in ASIC design. Cui earned a Ph.D. in Nuclear Technology and Application from Tsinghua University in 2010.
