Jordan Shapiro

Non-resident Fellow at Brookings

Jordan Shapiro is an Associate Professor at Temple University in the College of Liberal Arts since January 2012 and also serves as a Visiting Professor at Temple University Japan since May 2025. As a Senior Fellow at the Joan Ganz Cooney Center and a Non-Resident Fellow at The Brookings Institution since July 2018, Shapiro contributes to thought leadership in education and training technology. Shapiro is an accomplished book author with work published by Little, Brown and Company since 2017 and operates a consultancy focused on instructional design and school reform. As an internationally recognized public speaker, Shapiro engages diverse audiences including corporations, NGOs, and government bodies. Previous experience includes contributions to Forbes Magazine from November 2012 to January 2017. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Electronic Studies from Bard College and a PhD in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
