Lauren Lowenstein Bauer

Lauren Lowenstein Bauer has a diverse and extensive work experience. Lauren currently holds the position of Associate Director for The Hamilton Project at The Brookings Institution, a role they started in January 2022. Prior to their current position, they were a Fellow in Economic Studies at The Brookings Institution from June 2018 to present. From February 2016 to June 2018, they served as a Visiting Fellow in Economic Studies at The Brookings Institution.

In 2009, Lauren worked as a Special Assistant at the U.S. Department of Education from January 2009 to June 2010. In 2008, they were a Research Associate at the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition team from November 2008 to January 2009.

Additionally, Lauren has had several roles with political organizations. Lauren served as a Research Associate for Obama for America from December 2006 to November 2008 and as a Research Director for Duckworth for Congress from April 2006 to November 2006. Lauren also held the position of Midwest Campus Field Organizer at U.S. PIRG from January 2006 to April 2006.

Lauren Lowenstein Bauer's education history begins in 2002 when they enrolled at Northwestern University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History. Lauren completed their undergraduate studies in 2005.

In 2010, Lauren returned to Northwestern University to further their education. Lauren completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Human Development and Social Policy in 2013. The same year, they also began their Ph.D. program in Human Development and Social Policy, which they completed in 2016. Additionally, Lauren obtained a Certificate in Education Sciences during their doctoral studies.
