Teaching Artist at Brooklyn Academy Of Music

GV Maldonado has a diverse work experience, starting in 2010 as a Puppeteer and Puppet Captain for City Parks Foundation. In 2014, they worked as a Teaching Artist for The Center for Arts Education, followed by a role as a Teaching Artist for People's Theatre Project from 2016 to 2017. During this time, they focused on using theatre to help bilingual youth improve their English skills.

In 2016, GV Maldonado also worked as a Teaching Artist for Onassis Foundation (USA), where they created original theatre experiences for families visiting the museum, and as a Teaching Artist for Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, providing after-school theatre curriculum.

From 2016 to 2020, they also held various roles at Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, including Literacy Coordinator, SYEP Counselor, and currently as a Literacy Manager. In these roles, they have been responsible for supporting and mentoring staff, reviewing lesson plans, providing training and feedback, and modeling teaching as professional development.

In 2018, GV Maldonado worked as a Production Manager for La Pirata Productions, and in 2017, they had a temporary role as an Administrative Assistant for Access Staffing. They also have freelance experience as a Stage Manager for various productions since 2008.

GV Maldonado obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. They then pursued a Master of Science degree in Educational Theatre at The City College of New York from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, GV Maldonado has also obtained certifications in "Fundamentals of Marketing Your Business Online" and "Social Media Strategy for Small Businesses" from Alison - Free Online Learning in July 2020.
