Jennifer Acevedo

Jennifer Acevedo is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as a Staff Attorney and Immigrant Justice Fellow at Brooklyn Defenders since September 2021. Jennifer's legal journey includes a role as a Summer Legal Intern at LatinoJustice PRLDEF and experience as a Paralegal at Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Jennifer held various positions at Central Queens YM & YWHA, where responsibilities included co-facilitating birthday parties and coaching lacrosse. Educational background includes a Doctor of Law (JD) from City University of New York School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latin American Studies from Fordham University. Additional experience includes internships at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and Maya Media Corporation, as well as volunteer work with Make the Road New York.
