Laila Islam

Laila Islam is an experienced program coordinator and educator with a strong background in museum education, community engagement, and arts programming. Currently serving as a Museum Educator at the Children's Museum of Manhattan and previously as a Program Coordinator for Brooklyn Museum on Wheels, Laila has developed and facilitated numerous interactive cultural programs. Earlier roles include Lead Teacher at the Octavia Project, where Laila co-created a summer camp curriculum for high school students, and as a Museum Education Fellow at the Brooklyn Museum, focusing on art and activism. Laila also founded The Future Is Us Collective, organizing various community events aimed at youth engagement. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Curatorial Studies from Moore College of Art and Design, Laila's expertise encompasses grant writing, project management, and qualitative research within the arts sector.
