BROOKLYN PROSPECT CHARTER SCHOOL
Michael Allen-Smith is an accomplished educator and communications professional with a strong background in teaching English Language Arts and experience in policy advocacy. Currently serving as an English Language Arts Teacher at Prospect Schools since August 2023, Michael previously held the same role at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy from August 2021 to July 2023. Additional experience includes working as a Policy and Advocacy Fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity and a Field Organizer at NextGen America. Michael's background in education is complemented by a Master of Education from Rhode Island College and a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Ottawa, where contributions included research and strategic insight to enhance faculty performance. Leadership roles have included directing programs and communications at Timberlake Ranch Camp, serving as President of the Student Government Association at Trinity International University, and collaborating on various projects during earlier internships.
