Liza Katz

Liza Katz is a seasoned librarian with extensive experience in various roles, currently serving as a Senior Reference Librarian and Senior Adult Librarian at Brooklyn Public Library since March 2019. Key accomplishments include leading adult programming, managing collections, and curating custom reading lists while supporting diverse community needs. Previous roles include Contract Archivist and Archivist at the Modern Language Association, where Liza wrote grant applications, established archival standards, and enhanced the organization’s online presence. Liza's background also includes experience at the Brooklyn Historical Society and Bard Hessel Museum, where contributions ranged from facilitating educational workshops to developing collections. Liza holds a Master of Library & Information Science from St. John's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Bard College.
