Shirish Wadivkar

Shirish Wadivkar has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Shirish is currently the MD and Global Head of Transaction Management at Swift, where they are responsible for the Transaction Management Platform and overseeing a team of 160 professionals. Shirish'skey initiatives include driving ISO 20022 adoption, implementing the Swift gpi suite of products, and ensuring efficient transaction management and tracking.

Prior to their current role, Shirish held the position of MD and Global Head of Wholesale Payments & Trade Strategy at Swift. In this role, they were responsible for defining the agenda for Wholesale Payments & Trade, covering core payment products, trade standards, digitization, payment market infrastructures, and marketplaces.

Shirish also served as a member of the Board of Directors at Swift India Domestic Services Private Limited, where they played a vital role in the company's decision-making processes.

Shirish is also a member of the ICC DSI Industry Advisory Board at the International Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining Swift, Shirish worked at Standard Chartered Bank for several years. Shirish held various managing director roles, including Global Head of Payments, Global Head of Correspondent Banking Products, and Global Head of Payables & Receivables, Cash Management. In these positions, they were responsible for managing and developing payment products, correspondent banking products, and transactional cash management products. Shirish successfully led various initiatives, including the creation of SWIFT GPI and the development of FI Backed Supply Chain Products.

Earlier in their career, Shirish worked in various positions at MphasiS, BNP Paribas, and HDFC Bank.

Shirish Wadivkar completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Pune University from 1993 to 1997. Shirish then pursued an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur from 1997 to 1999.
