Brian Carlisle

Brian Carlisle is a seasoned robotics professional with extensive experience in the industry. Currently serving as the Senior Director of the Precise Collaborative Robot product line at Brooks Automation since April 2021, Carlisle continues to advance the development of robotic solutions for Lab Automation and General Automation markets. Previously, Carlisle was the President of Precise Automation from 2004 until March 2022, where operations focused on the design and manufacture of robot motion controllers for OEM customers. As a co-founder and CEO of Adept Technology from 1983 to 2003, Carlisle led the company to over $100 million in sales and contributed to significant innovations in robotics, earning the Joseph Engelberger Award for leadership. Carlisle's career also includes a role as Director of R&D at Unimation Inc, where collaboration with notable figures like Victor Scheinman resulted in the development of the PUMA series of robots. Academic credentials include a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, completed in 1975.
