Thomas W. Brown is a member and President of Brookwood and the Director of Real Estate Acquisitions for Brookwood and Yesway. Tom’s primary responsibility is to identify potential commercial real estate and convenience store investments. In addition, Tom directs all acquisition due diligence, secures all property and portfolio financing, and oversees all property dispositions. Tom is also responsible for managing Brookwood deal teams and, is intimately involved in the asset management of acquired properties to ensure that the acquisition strategies are effectively implemented. Tom is a member of Brookwood’s and Yesway’s Executive and Investment Committees.
Prior to joining Brookwood in 1994, Tom was a Vice President of Winthrop Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Winthrop Financial Associates. As Director of National Real Estate Operations, Tom was responsible for the management of 30 million square feet of office, industrial, and retail properties representing over $3 billion of real estate. Tom previously served as the President of a publicly held national real estate firm where he was responsible for the real estate operations of 250 office buildings and shopping centers throughout the United States. Tom is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Texas and received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. In 2018, Tom completed the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
