Michael Deleo

Interim Associate Vice President Of Safety, Security & Emergency Preparadeness at Broward College

Michael DeLeo serves as the Associate Dean for Professional and Executive Development at Broward College's Institute of Public Safety since April 2023. Additionally, Michael is an Adjunct Professor at both Barry University and Broward College, roles held since August 2024 and March 2005 respectively. Prior teaching experience includes an Adjunct Professor position at Tallahassee Community College from August 2019 to July 2024. Previously, Michael held leadership roles such as Chief of Police for the City of Tallahassee Police Department from December 2013 to December 2019, and Deputy Chief of Police at Plantation Police Department from November 1994 to December 2013. Michael's extensive law enforcement career also includes various positions ranging from Police Officer to Police Detective. Academically, Michael earned a JD from Nova Southeastern University, a Master's in Criminal Justice from American International College, a Master's in Management from St. Thomas University, and a BA in History from the University of Florida. Furthermore, professional development includes participation in multiple FBI and FDLE executive training programs.
