The Broward Partnership

The Broward Partnership, a 501 (c)(3) organization, is committed to reducing homelessness by promoting independence and self worth through advocacy, housing and comprehensive services. To achieve this mission, the Partnership operates the 230 bed Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center (Center) on the Huizenga Campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Center provides emergency housing and solution-focused services for homeless men, women and families with children. The Partnership uses an innovative model of care to create a safe and caring environment that has helped more than 22,500 homeless individuals and families in Broward County achieve dignified independence. In addition to a safe secure place to stay and nutritional meals, the Partnership's residents receive mental health counseling, primary medical and dental care, substance abuse treatment, case management, education, vocational training, employment services, and support services for the families. The Partnership accommodates up to 120 men and 40 women as well as 70 family members in the special family dormitory wing. The average stay at the Center is 60 days. Additionally, there is capacity to house 50 individual men during weather emergencies such as extreme cold weather.
