Mamie Parker is a seasoned professional in fish and wildlife biology with extensive experience in leadership and organizational consulting. Currently serving as the Nominating Chair and Board Member at Brown Advisory since June 2017 and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Wildlife Federation since May 2018, Mamie Parker also heads Ma Parker and Associates, LLC, focusing on mentoring and facilitating workshops. As a Principal Consultant with EcoLogix Group, Inc., from January 2019 to February 2025, outreach to stakeholders and organizational leadership mentorship has been a priority. Prior roles include significant achievements at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where accomplishments included being the first Black American to serve as Head of Fisheries, overseeing a substantial budget and managing national fish hatchery operations. Mamie Parker holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay/Madison, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and additional studies in Fisheries Sciences.
