Juliet Fang is an undergraduate researcher at Brown University specializing in biology, engineering, and medicine, currently leading a project on the tumor suppressor gene p63 in echinoderms at the Wessel Lab. Demonstrating a commitment to community engagement, Juliet is involved in the Community Noise Lab and serves as a Community Based Research and Learning Fellow focused on gender-based violence prevention. Experience includes a research internship focused on HIV among adolescents in Kenya and previous roles as a freelance writer and student researcher examining congenital syphilis in California. As an opinions editor and columnist for The Brown Daily Herald, Juliet engages in public discourse while digitizing historical specimens at the Brown University Herbarium. Education includes ongoing studies at Brown University following a diploma from University High School.

The Brown Daily Herald, Inc. is a financially independent, nonprofit media organization with more than 250 students working across our journalism, business and web divisions to bring you The Brown Daily Herald and Post- Magazine. The Herald has served as the daily newspaper of record for the Brown community since 1891. Our mission is to inform, entertain and reflect the Brown community by producing relevant and engaging content across a variety of platforms. As a teaching organization, we are committed to attracting and training a diverse staff, representative of the Brown student body, and helping them develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
