Michael White

VP, Finance & CFO at Brown University

Michael White is the current VP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Brown University. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Harvard Medical School from February 2016 to January 2020. In this role, they provided executive leadership to the Dean and Executive Dean for Administration, and was responsible for a $700 million operating budget. Michael also oversaw all periodic and year-end closings, audits and preparation of financial statements, strategic financial planning, and the implementation of appropriate financial reporting and analytical tools and metrics across the enterprise.

Michael received their undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Michael White holds a Master of Science in Finance/Economics from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law Studies/Political Science from the University of Maine.
