Visiting Associate Professor Of The Practice Of Urban Studies at Brown University

Robert Azar has extensive experience in urban planning and development, currently serving as the Deputy Director of Planning and Development for the City of Providence since June 2000. Previous roles within the same department include Director of Current Planning, Acting Director, and Senior/Principal Planner. Additionally, Robert Azar has been involved in academia as a Visiting Associate Professor of the Practice of Urban Studies and Visiting Instructor at Brown University since January 2009. Robert Azar holds a Master’s degree in Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
