Alissa Kharkar

Alissa Kharkar is an experienced educator currently serving as a History Teacher at Browne Academy since September 2017, where a focus on crafting an engaging curriculum for 7th and 8th graders emphasizes a growth mindset. Prior to this role, Alissa worked as a Social Studies Teacher for K12, creating an engaging online classroom and fostering strong relationships with students and families. Alissa also has experience as a Social Studies Teacher at Natick Public Schools, where interactive curriculum development was key, and as a Long Term Substitute Teacher managing diverse classrooms. Previous roles include a Graduate Assistant position at Boston College and a Recruiting Assistant role at MIT Sloan School of Management, as well as serving as an Account Manager at Sterling Risk Advisors, Inc. Alissa holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Boston College and a Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.
