Director Of State Government Relations For The Early Care & Education Consortium at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

Elsa Jacobsen has a diverse work experience spanning various fields and roles. Elsa started their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant for Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI Astronaut. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as an Assistant to the VP of Asset Management at Watt Companies, where they organized team-building sessions and property tours, created monthly newsletters, and maintained communication with outside counsel and consultants.

In 2009, Elsa held multiple roles including a Legal Extern at the Office of General Counsel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Law and Religion Fellow at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, and a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant for Professor Mary Jensen at J. Reuben Clark Law School. Elsa instructed first-year law students, edited legal briefs and memoranda, and gained experience in the field of law and religion.

In 2010, Elsa served as an Education Pioneers Fellow at the California Charter Schools Association, working on education-related projects. Elsa also worked as a Judicial Extern for Chief Justice Christine Durham at the Utah Supreme Court.

From 2011 to 2012, Elsa worked as a Law Clerk at Young, Minney & Corr, LLP, gaining valuable legal experience in a professional setting.

Starting in 2014, Elsa worked at Child360 (formerly LAUP) for several years in different roles. Elsa initially served as a Policy & Budget Analyst, then advanced to be a Senior Policy Analyst and finally became the Director of Public Policy. In these positions, they led the organization's policy and advocacy efforts in early learning, drafting recommendations, proposals, and letters of support. Elsa also authored an annual policy report that represented the perspectives of over 600 early care and education professionals in Los Angeles County.

Currently, Elsa is the Director of State Government Relations for the Early Care & Education Consortium at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a role they started in November 2022.

Elsa Jacobsen has earned a JD degree in Law from BYU Law School. Elsa also holds a BA degree in History, with Honors in Education, from Stanford University. Additionally, they have completed an MA degree in Education Policy Analysis & Evaluation from Stanford University.
