Mike is currently President of C.E.M.P. Central, Inc., a teaching, training, and consulting organization dedicated to working with the construction, mining, and quarrying industries to advance technology and skill in the management of mobile equipment fleets.
Mike is also the David H. Burrows Professor Emeritus at Virginia Tech, where he served the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Virginia Tech College of Engineering in various capacities. His principal area of focus was in construction engineering and management, where he taught at undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels and completed several notable research projects.
Prior to his work at Virginia Tech, Mike was on the faculty of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he served as Civil Engineering Department Head for six years and as Assistant Director at the Graduate School of Business for six years prior. He has enjoyed a lifetime in the construction industry working on projects in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa.
