Susan Gilchrist

Susan Gilchrist is Chair, Global Clients, focusing on the most important thing at Brunswick - our clients. Her work reflects the international scope and breadth of the firm’s offering and includes counseling clients on major crises, mergers and acquisitions, and ongoing corporate reputation building efforts.

Susan was Group Chief Executive, 2012 – 2018, overseeing a period of huge expansion and development at Brunswick, developing and strengthening the firm’s specialist offers and professionalising the management. She has also held senior leadership positions with the firm in Europe and the United States, having served previously as US Managing Partner and Senior Partner for Brunswick’s London office.

Susan is regularly ranked among leaders in the field of communications and is frequently asked to speak at conferences and events. In 2015 she was appointed to the Board of the Arthur W. Page Society, has been included on PR Week’s Power List multiple times and is among Business Insider’s “25 Most Influential People in PR”. She has also served as a judge for the annual PR Week Awards in the US. Susan’s recent speaking engagements have included the Milken Institute Global Conference, Fortune’s Most Powerful Women (MPW) Summit, both in London and the US, the FT’s Business of Luxury Summit, and DLDwomen13, which is part of the global Digital Life Design community focused on convening leaders in innovation, digitization, science and culture.

Prior to joining Brunswick in 1995, Susan was the retail correspondent at The Times and worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. She is a Founding Supporter in the US of the 30% Club, the group devoted to increasing gender balance across organizations and particularly in boardrooms. She is also Chairwoman of London’s Southbank Centre, the UK’s largest arts centre. In 2014 she was awarded a fellowship by her alma mater, King’s College, London, and she has completed studies in leadership at Harvard Business School.
