Klaus Petersen

Lead Auditor at BSI Group

Klaus Petersen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Klaus started their career as a Project Engineer at the European Transonic Windtunnel, where they worked on various aspects of the construction phase of a multinational aerospace project. Klaus then transitioned into the field of auditing, starting as a Lead Auditor at TUV Essen (aka RWTUV), where they focused on Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Klaus Petersen continued their auditing career at TUV Rheinland Argentina and later at TUV Rheinland North America, where they served as a Lead Auditor and also worked as the QS 9000 Program Manager. Klaus then joined WestfaliaSurge as the Director of Quality and Environment for the Americas, where they were responsible for implementing a Continual Improvement (CI) Program and QMS across ten facilities in North and South America. Most recently, Klaus Petersen worked as a Lead Auditor at DNVGL, specializing in auditing Mexican suppliers to the automotive supply chain. Overall, they have performed over 1500 audits throughout their career. Klaus Petersen currently holds the position of Lead Auditor at BSI.

Klaus Petersen completed their High School Diploma from Burlingame High School from 1978 to 1981. Following this, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1986.
