Katerina Rizou

Research Assistant at BSRC Alexander Fleming

Katerina Rizou is a PhD candidate and research assistant at Skretas Lab since March 2023, focusing on advanced research in bioinformatics and computational biology. Prior experience includes research assistant roles at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens from 2021 to August 2022, where Katerina conducted a computational study on amyloidoses through disease-protein-drug network analysis, as well as a bachelor thesis analyzing interactions of amyloidogenic peptide-analogues. Katerina also interned at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens in summer 2017, where the work involved overexpression of transcription factors in bacterial cells. Katerina holds a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics - Computational Biology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, alongside an educational background from Arsakeia - Tositseia Schools.
