Marios Itsios is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, following the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at the Agricultural University of Athens. Experience at BSRC Alexander Fleming includes conducting an MSc thesis on "Investigating the role of lncORF-encoded microproteins in physiology and carcinogenesis" in Dr. Pantelis Hatzis' Lab, and previously serving as a Research Assistant Intern where projects involved studying gene expression in Cockayne Syndrome fibroblasts under Dr. Maria Fousteri, as well as generating cellular models for smORF-encoded peptides in Dr. Pantelis Hatzis' Lab. Marios also completed a Bachelor's thesis on comparative expression analysis in the TgRANKL osteoporosis mouse model in Dr. Eleni Douni's Lab.
